RELEASE Fitness
I formed Release Fitness to help people do what I love - Training all year round to keep fit and as a release from the daily stresses we all experience.
How I got here...
I have always been fascinated with how to train, researching, and writing my own training programs for sporting challenges and to keep fit. During the first national lock down when the gyms closed, rather than stop, I started strength training at home. It really helped to keep me alert and energised for a long day of zoom calls.
I was then furloughed, which was scary at first, then I thought why not use the time to do the thing I always wanted to do and I qualified as a Personal Trainer. Using my new found knowledge I started training family, friends and colleagues, it included strength training and helping people to run for the first time. I was then made redundant, which happens, but still knocks you back, but I took a step out of my comfort zone to start Release fitness, and do what I love - helping people achieve their health and fitness goals.
City boy, driving my wife mad, finding a Work Life Balance...
I have spent most of my career as a City boy working for mostly large corporate organisations. This has taken me all round the world Including working and living with my family in Switzerland. In the early part of my career I really struggled finding a balance, until exercise became my release from corporate life, helping me to handle stress, build resilience, and ultimately be successful in my career.
In my spare time I made it my goal to always find time for fitness, from running in my favorite local event the Reigate Park Run, trail running along the North Downs or cycling up Box Hill. I also love to take on a challenge especially endurance events including Marathons, Ultra running, Triathlons, IronMan, and most recently HYROX. Including completing what is considered the worlds toughest foot race the Marathon Des Sables.
Life Experience
So I know how it feels to step outside of what feels comfortable, to balance family, a demanding career, still find time for fitness and ultimately your health. I think looking after your health makes you both a better spouse/parent and more successful and happier in your career.
